...Why is it important to have
Disability Insurance?

1. Ask yourself… Can you financially survive if you are unable to work because of an injury or illness?

Disability insurance will provide you with an income if you can’t work because of a qualified injury or illness. Often times, expenses actually increase if you go on disability insurance. It is extremely important to have as much income as possible should something unfortunate happen, or you could face harsh financial hardships.

2. Employer coverage is not enough.

Many employers provide disability insurance that covers around 60% of an employee’s salary capped around $5,000-$10,000 of benefit per month. Having an additional individual disability insurance plan will supplement the employer coverage to provide you with more income protection should you get sick or injured.

3. The chance of becoming disabled, whether as an injury or sickness, is actually quite high.

Did you know about 1 in 3 Americans between the ages of 35-65 will have a disability lasting longer than 90 days? That alone is reason enough to protect your income with disability insurance. Purchasing disability insurance at a young age will help you lock in less expensive premiums for the rest of your life. You never want to be the person who wishes they had purchased coverage before it’s too late.
